A simple little project for a couple of the Hawaiian islands, where they are going green with wind power! But I'm looking for someone who has the latest version (1.09) of Ground Environment X installed to double check these, please. I have GEX, but it's not installed ATM.

An earlier revision of GEX appropriated the DIRT texture of FSX and made it into something else. This was suppose to be changed back in the 1.09 update? It's really disappointing to see the commandeering of a whole texture set by an addon to do something for their benefit, while leaving the rest of the design community to work around it...

So before I release it I need to know if the areas around the windmills in Maui and Upolu are showing a nice dirty texture or if it's some cat barf green garbage? If it's the cat barf green, then I'll need to address that in the read me.

Input welcome, so I can get the thing uploaded to Avsim.
 
I have GEX 1.09 but GEX doesn't cover Hawaii.Sounds like a nice addon,and would be happy to test them if they would have included Hawaii in their coverage.
 
The dirt texture is global in scope. While GEX doesn't include some of the Oceanic textures that apply to Hawai'i, in FSX the texture applicability of the US product impacts a very large portion of the world.
 
Urgh, cat barf! That was suppose to revert back to dirt in 1.09. But if it didn't, that doesn't really surprise me any...

I'll "compensate" with some choice words in the final readme file.
