Not wholly unrealistic. Lot of good Marine Corps terminology in there (mostly from the Sgt. Major). I was a Marine Infantry Officer way back when and enjoy watching this movie a lot.
OK, OK, the Helocast insertion was a bit on the "Hollywood" side, but aside from that it's a good film to have a beer over...

Now I have to through it in my DVD and watch it.
It is a good movie I don't care how unrealistic it might be that is the whole point of a movie. To entertain me with fiction. When I watch documentaries then I expect a realistic representation of the facts and events, which I will find entertaining.
