Helldiver or Shrike

btw....

Anyone got an idea where the wing guns are texture mapped to ?

I think I've been staring at these templates way too long :faint:

What about the black square at the bottom far left of fuselage_t?

just paint it pink and load the aircraft into the game, then outside look and you will see!
sorry, I haven't the source available otherwise I would look.

Agas5, your never too old to learn. I always thought the CF2 was the same as FS9 except you got to fire guns and drop bombs. I use CFS2 airplanes regulary. Now I find out that not only not having much scenery, you can't even put a shine on your airplanes.
Now I worked with Wolfi long and hard when building the Helldiver and I always asked him to put on some shine and he never answered me. Now I finally learned why. Now I'll ask another stupid question, can a CFS2 airplane be brought over to FS9 to get it shiny?

Helldiver, i already answered your question on the previous page. The answer is yes if you tweak the mdl file with the Mdlc program. Its the same process in both FS and CFS2. No where in this thread did we say you couldn't put shine on, i said you have to use a the Mdlc program to do so.

FYI, all the shine and reflectivity you see in Fs world is accomplished first by adding alpha channel directly to the mdl files during design. Next, alpha textures are added to skin the model and the texture alpha simply "activates" or enhances the alpha shine and reflection already in the mdl. If there's no shine or reflection in the mdl, the alpha textures won't help. This whole subject begins and ends with the mdl, not the texturing. And again, with the right tools, the mdl can be tweaked for shine even AFTER its finished.

If Wolfi doesn't mind, i could upload a CFS2 mod with more shine...that's the only way to help the paints.

I tell ya what, I'll do a used and a fresh texture for each depiction as well.... bugga all extra work at my end and the fresh version will suite a shiny model very well.

"The answer is yes if you tweak the mdl file with the Mdlc by using the Alpha channel" is just all Greek to me. I download a plane and then fly it. Now Moses03, that's pretty good shine you got on a Helldiver from my ship. It could be brighter but I'd take it as it is. If you can point out where I can download it It would be much appreciated.
