Help! Can't find LA even on a VMC day!

Hey everyone - not sure if anyone else has experienced this.
I have lost almost all of city details/object (except huge objects). LA for instance has a lot of tree and terrain with sparse areas of population centers.

I have updated to the new version of GEX thinking that would solve the problem. No joy there.
I also have Extreme FSX PC, and adjusted the "remove small objects sliders" all the way down to "0". No joy there either.

I do remember a time when downtown LA, Denver, and other cities were populated with detail - although it wasn't photoreal, just autogen.

Any thoughts or suggestions welcome. A few screenies below.

I can't tell for certain, but me thinks you might have UTX? If so, start the UTX-USA Setup tool to check for errors in the Terrain.cfg file. After that, go back and see if La-La land looks normal. Or what is termed normal now-a-days for la-La land...:mushroom:

Meshman,
Thanks for the vector to UTX. I do have that installed, and everything checked out, but I did some experimenting, and found that if I inactivated the Landclass vegetation layer, the urban areas came back. So if anyone else experiences this anomoly, just inactivate the landclass vegetation layer.
La-La land... too funny.

Here is what it looks like now.

Glad to La-La land is back to it's "normal" state. But having to turn off part of UTX says to me that something has changed files around that shouldn't have been changed. Hopefully it won't be a problem in any other areas?

For reference, I escaped Kalifornia and La-La land a couple of years ago and that's a good thing! :victorious:

I ran a few flights - one out of Oceana (Virginia Beach) to Langley AFB - and one out of Colorado Springs (KCOS) - all of the urban detail is present now, where it was not previously. Not sure of the reasoning behind the UTX veggie layer covering up everything, but for now at least, it seems fine.

Roger all on escaping the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia.... Both my wife and I were born there - great place to visit.... but even Phil Mickelson doesn't want to afford it there....

I thought the photos looked like an improvement for LA. It would certainly help clean up the air...
LOL
