Help Henry

Guys think what you like!! Members of my family and good friends like Henry have strokes it's awful, and I absolutely appreciate the high emotions felt for him, all I was trying to say was, making the guy feel like a cripple or whatever the pc term is these days, is no good, instead encourage him to get back up and fighting and not feel like a charity case, granted maybe I did not say it in the right way but I hope you understand! Help Henry help himself! Roger you do know me mate!

Henry hasn't requested 'help', our natural reaction is to weigh in and give him a hand, especially those of us who have been associated with him for several years.
None of us regard him as 'cripple' and he has a decent chance of becoming independent, but we (his virtual friends) are attempting him to reach that goal by helping out for a time!

FTR, my youngest brother suffered a massive stroke just over a year ago, he is now in a 'High Care facility' and he will never be 'going home'.
Try living with that!!

When I get a bit of money flowing I would like to contribute. My wife suffered a stroke about a year ago. She is only 38. For a while she lost the use of her left hand, her speech was slightly impaired and some of the feeling in her leg was gone. She has since almost completely recovered (a blessing), however there are still recurring issues, and the burdening thought that it may happen again.

I have always found Henry to be chipper. It would be an honor to assist the chap in any way I could.

Peter, your showing your inexperience in life. Henry deserves all our help and more. He's a special fellow. He needs every bit of support he can get. Just because you don't realize it just shows your naivety. I suggest you go to some other forum and spread your youthful bile there.

I agree that what Peter posted was in poor form. Note that several replies to his original statement are from staff members. This issue is obviously being looked at by staff. That said I'm asking that we stop the beat-down that I see starting and get back to the topic at hand.

I know that in a couple of weeks when some overtime clears on my paycheck I'll be sending in my donation.

Not bragging but I gave without thinking twice. And:

I also wish a speedy and fullest recovery for Henry...I really like those brief, pointed postings of his and want to see them here again soonest.

Leave young Pete alone guys, everyone has their own sense of propriety and thats all that was..."conformity isn't for everyone" as my ol' grandpappy used to say - words to heed.
