Help Needed

Hi all,
Does anyone have a fix for the FS9 Iris P-40E canopy glass so I can use it in FSX?

The prop texture is no problem but I can't isolate the glass texture for the forward canopy.

Any help would be appreciated. I just love that "E" model.

Hi Mal, it doesn't actually answer your question but the FSX version of the P-40 is now freeware and available from the IRIS site

Thanks Fellas,
I do have the FSX version, but it is a Kittyhawk instead of the "E" and uses a modern pilot. Also, I can't use all the USAAC paints that were available with the FS9 version. Guess I'll just have to fly the updated version.

Thanks anyway!

Sorry for the duff lead Mal, I've always been a bit confused about which P-40 was the Kitty and which was the Tomahawk!

If you have DXTBMP or something similar you can flip the image and alpha of the four main textures (P40_1_T, P40_2_T, P40_T_3, P40_T_4) in the FS9 paint and save them as DDS. Then just drop them into a copy of an existing FSX texture folder, overwriting when asked, rename the copied folder, add the new name to the cfg and - well, they do seem to fit! You probably have to delete the bumps & specs though, or redo them to match the new paint. As for the modern helmet, I think Shift-3 gives you the option to change it to an old-style leather helmet.
