Help please with a problem

I tried
TERRAIN_EXTENDED_TEXTURES=0
instead of
TERRAIN_EXTENDED_TEXTURES=1
and it made a mess of textures further away

This raises a point not so far mentioned.

Using photo real scenery with terrain extended textures selected,the sim takes several minutes to load a flight, sometimes as much as 5 minutes and with no appreciable difference, so it is not worth selecting

Using default scenery selecting terrain extended textures does not alter the time taken to load by very much, but does make a difference to the quality of the scenery.
