help with FSX null zones

Daveroo

Members +
i need help with the null zones and sensitivties levels,,,,,where is the best place to set them....?

Hello daveroo,

The null zones introduce unstability in the aircraft control. The best is to have a zero null zones. But with the older aircrafts with mechanical control link to control surfaces, as the aircraft became older, the null zone may increase. With the newer aircrafts, the black boxes, eliminate pratically the inflence of the null zones even if physically theree is some dead zones in the controll links. In any case, a well maintained aircraft will have almost not perceptible null zones. So take care of your virtual aircraft and put to zero the null zones (dead zones) That is my suggestion.

Have a good day

Benoit

zero null zones doesn't work for me. It's just the opposite with the instability IMHO.
I just increase it that much so you don't have any unwanted spike or joystick movement around the center.
Bear in mind that the joystick travel is much smaller than stick/yoke travel in a real plane.
So large movements around the center may make your plane rather twitchy.

The sensitivity just slows down the control surface deflection and hence delays the control response which makes the planes more sluggish.
For planes with hydraulic powered flight controls 100 is about correct for the deflection speed.
For very small GA planes you could go to the max limit (full right) but I also prefer to have them at 100.
