[FONT=&quot]We've been to our embassy and the police here but they're not helping effectively and our return flight leaves very soon but we're having issues in sorting our hotel bills, the hotel manager won't let us leave until our bills is sorted out, am really full of panic right now that i can't think of any thing presently but to save my family. i was wondering if i could loan some quick cash from you to sort out our hotel bills and get a cab down to the airport, I promise to pay you back on my return. i will be waiting to read back from you so i can send you email on how you can get me cash and how much is needed to be wire to me.[/FONT]

One similar to this was making the rounds this past New Year's Eve in Burns, of all places, out in the Oregon Outback. Having just moved there at the time, the wee village was buzzing with talk of everyone's cell phone being rung systematically & a con almost exactly like this one was presented to the receiver. It tricked a few elders, unfortunately, but within 24 hours the scam was over & moving on to fresher ground.

There are takers & there are givers. Bad to be either one alone. A balance of giving & taking is where it's at. People who design & execute schemes like this one are pure takers. Good thing it all comes back, eh, in the same ratio... eventually, anyhoo.

Thousands of ways to express this principle. A few: What goes around comes around. Plant the seed, reap the crop. Every action has an equal & opposite reaction. Like attracts like. Lay a trap for someone & we fall into it.

It all is saying the same thing.

Trans,........I received the EXACT same message last fall from an email friend. His name Bob was substituted for Beverly. Of course it's easy enough to smell a rat in this silly case. It's right up there with the Nigerian scams. Anyway, I decided to string 'Bob' along for awhile. He never responded after a few emails.
When I did bump into the actual Bob a few weeks ago I mentioned this money fleecing
scam to him. He stated somehow 'they' somehow got a hold of his Facebook password and then used his email address to send out various distress emails to persons who might go for the bait.
But when you think about it,...it's jus' like fishing,...the perps throw out enough cries of being in a financial pickle,....someone will come to their rescue.
I've permanently removed Bob off my email address book,....just in case.

I got one of those a while back, it was supposedly from one of the guys on my F-8 List and he and his wife were stuck in London after being robbed. Of course they were at home in San Diego safe and sound. Apparently his e-mail address book was hijacked. I wish these a-holes would get a life instead of sending out spam that anybody with half a brain can see through.
