An agreement has been reached in principle for Colton Herta to join AlphaTauri next season and Pierre Gasly to move to Alpine — if the FIA approves a Super License for the American IndyCar racer.

I'd LOVE to see Gasly at Alpine!
Too bad RBR didn't give Gasly the same amount of time behind the wheel as they did Albon.....

I've read that the other team principals aren't ready to make an exception on the license points rule for Herta..

I can think of several better candidates running in Formula 2 that should be promoted.
Of course several are entered under most (if not all) F1 'Academy' banners so that might be problematic.

Interesting read Ed but if (if other Team Principals are against it!) he gets a licence for a seat at (say) AlphaTauri he will probably spend the bulk of the 2023 season in their simulator.
And we all know what Marko does to 'new promising talent'...........
