One hell of a rider. Very nice words from Greg Lemond and Lance Amstrong among many. We will miss him next Tour de France (he was a commentator on French TV).

I knew he was in a bad way Dominique, word of his passing has not made its way here. If anything, he was better as the French commentator than as a rider, at least his personality. I got to see him race in two Tour de Ponts in the eartly 1990s, where I worked neutral support.
My sincere condolences to his family, friends, fellow bikers, and all Frenchmen.
I remember when he won that second Tour de France against "The Badger" in 1984, I was in college at the time.
What a "Battle Royal" on that one climb, and then he left Hinault in the dust.
My condolences as well.
