Have just uploaded model of the WWI seaplane tender, HMS Ben-my-Chree - this ship launched the aircraft that sank the first enemy vessel to be sunk with an air dropped torpedo. She started life as an Isle of Man steamer but was converted at the beginning of 1915. Served at Gallipoli and later the Eastern Mediterranean where she was sunk by a Turkish shore battery in 1917.

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Ships Add-Ons

Description: Seaplane tender converted from an Isle of Man steamer at the beginning of WWI. Took part in several abortive attacks on North East German coast before joining the Allied naval forces at Gallipoli. An aircraft from this ship was the first to sink an enemy vessel with an air dropped torpedo.

Later in the war she was sunk by a Turkish gun battery at the island of Kastellorizo, South West Turkey.

an interesting side note

To this day Ben-my-Chree holds the crossing speed record from Liverpool to Douglas for a steamship at under three hours.:running:Today's "modern" catamaran can only beat that by 15 minutes! :beaten:

That's a Sopwith Schneider and UncleTgt and I will be uploading it soon. It's an FS2004 model by Craig Richardson from 2004 that I have converted to CFS 2 and added things via the dp file.
