Holy C$%# - 4 of 5 Claims rejected!

Did everything by the book, wrote down my wingman and flight officer's names beforehand, and of 5 definite kills I get ONE Confirmed! Gonna take a loooong time to become an Ace!
:monkies:

I say, seems a bit harsh, what?.

Have you pissed off someone at HQ old boy?

5 claims think someone high up thought you must be making it up lol.

I'm still flying Phase 2 (for now) and in my current campaign I have 37 claims and only 7 confirmed. It is frustrating. Such is life in the Great War.

A case of scotch for the lads at Home Office works wonders.

Sometimes the Colonel not liking the cut of your jib, can make life hard

If when the game first loaded, you tried your guns on a wingman, because he stayed still. Bad Show I'm afraid . . Computers are like Elephants

That nurse who carries your child, did she ever mention WHERE exactly her father works

Other than that, life's a Beach :ernae:

I had similar with P2, 16 confirmed kills out of 32 claims!!!

If my first couple of missions are anything to go by with P3, I'll be lucky if i get any kills at all!! :costumes::icon_eek:

I will build in an option in either V 1.2 or V 1.3 to bypass all claims and have all kills accepted as you kill the craft - i.e after every mission you will be credited with the kills directly.

WM

Maybe the way kills are confirmed needs to be looked at. 1 out of 5? :faint:

I would think ground forces and wingmen are a bit more competent than that, especially if the aircraft went down on your side of the line.

Yeah, WINDER, and could you please build in a bottle of Scotch with every mission? (Lol!)

Come on, guys, let's keep it with the "real touch" - the victories were not all confirmed; not even for the aces! They ended up with a pile of never confirmed ones. I have also seen it to happen, that seven victories were confirmed some five flights later.
What you could do, is, set time advance manually, and then, when a "lone wolf" mission comes, just advance time, and check again. You should now get a different mission (all still for P2 - don't know P3 yet).

I don't know how speedy the confirmations came back then, but I do know how long it takes for awards to be given in modern military units... YEARS.

Who would generally give authorization to kill claims back then? Would it stay at squadron level, or go up to wing or by comparison "division" for authorization? If it went outside the squadron, I'm sure it would have taken longer than a day or two, at least assuming the modern gauntlet of paperwork that inevitably happens in today's military occurred back then too. (?)

Just wondering...

About Claims

When flying in two seaters... how do I know what my gunner/Observers name is? For submitting claims.

Would it be possible to submit claims after the mission is "Done". Currently the menu pops up after the flight and once submitted it's gone never to be seen again. On a few occasions I didn't know the type aircraft or the name of my wingman (or other seater) and wanted to look it up in the aircraft directory or squadron list... but couldn't get back to submit the claim once I was done with the paperwork. It would be nice to be able to submit claims for missions past.

Great game... I have a Vista 64 rig and everything seems to work fine. Thanks for all your effort... :applause:
Bonz... :jump:

P.S. Maybe this should be a new post...

Exactly, Danny. It was sent to headquarters, at least, if not all the way to Berlin (Shredward would know).
Hey, your new avatar is cool - I like this beagle, and especially his air combats on his Sopwith Dogshack !

Yeah, had to get more in the spirit of the forum and no one had grabbed up Snoopy, couldn't resist! Well, I'll be able to see the claim frustration first-hand, the supply clerk informed me minutes ago that a package had arrived for me... one in the shape of a DVD Booklet! Mwhahaha

Yesterday I got three messages about destroying Fok DVIIs. Only one was when I was in the area. The others came after I had decided staying around without ammo was one of the more stupid things to do. Started thinking that I should've only claimed the one I knew went down.

Haven't had a flamer yet {that I've seen}.

So it is written, that after the 'wet work'' was done. You'd turn your report into your squadron commander, after checking with the witnesses ( if they were around ) he sign his name to the bottom.

He might comment at the bottom 'clean kill' or 'He's a Bounder'

The report was added to all the other paperwork, including the requisition for more toilet paper, by the PLO or Permanent Latrine Orderly
And sent up to Home Office

From there onward, it was the responsability of the 'pencil pushers'
Might mean an extra month, if the pencil pusher's Bunion was acting up.

Then it was sumitted, (in triplicate of course) Along with the original ( no copy machine in 1917 ) to the Home Office Commander for Signature.

He was usually a Colonel or Higher, ex flier himself, wounded in action, now flys a desk in Home Office. I should think he'd be a rather nasty chap during the winter, pain from his wounds.

So now the signed( in triplicate) Authorization, goes back to the pencil pusher's desk. Now if the witnesses were available at the time, it goes in one pile. If they must be contacted, it goes in a different pile

But (if) the squadron commander, made an unfavorable comment. It might un-officialy get lost.

When the outgoing pile gets tall enough, that needs to travel to the same location, and a minor rank is available

The private first class, delivers the briefcase, to your pencil pusher.
Who is pleased as Punch, to get more work delivered

It is then sent to your Squadron Commander's pencil pusher, must be sorted, and would require HIS signature again

Then, and only Then, the Number on the Blackboard Changes, or NOT :greenf::redfire::kilroy:

Sounds like not much has changed militarily-paperwise worldwide since 1917... haha Thanks for the info!
