Hot enough for ya

I live between Mckinney and Love field. I don't mind dry heat, it's the humidity.

As I type this, you're at 34% humidity (KDFW). Dalhart is at 17%. Here in Greensboro, it's 84% with temp at 79° (brought down from 90°+ by t-storms). Around here, sweating does no good - it won't evaporate so all you do is overheat.

For Wisconsin it is a bit much. We are not used to the humidity. Yesterday was the worst I have seen it in a long time. Very wet.

It is 97 degrees here at 11:50 pm inside my apartment.
It will only be getting Hotter the next few days..
God Bless all who are suffering this..

Here in Texas, it's 84 in the mornings and by the late afternoon it's over 100....(Texas in Summertime) :icon29:

Wow, there are a bunch of us in the Texas, and around the DFW area in particular.

Was flying around my house in FSX the other day, thinking "yep, that's how it looks like right now -- everything crisp and brown from the heat and lack of rain."

At least we have A/C everywhere, I feel for the Hobbit and everyone else who does not. We lost our A/C awhile back, and I could not sleep with that heat.

[Explanatory Note: For those on the Funny Fahrenheit scale, zero C is when water freezes, 30 is getting quite hot]
Winter sort of missed Auckland this year, day temperatures are mid-teens.
The coldest (supposed) day barely made it into single figures, normally we'd get subzero and heavy frosts.
Even down south, the skiing season was delayed until last week due to lack of snow on the Alps.
There's no question global weather patterns are changing...be interesting to hear from those in the European summer.

I just hope my Central Air unit holds together . It's pushing 17-18 years old now . I do change the filter once a month in the furnace . A service tech told me to pour some bleach down the 1 " PVC drain pipe once a month also . It keeps the mold out and keep it from plugging up . It's a Carrier furnace and central air unit and so far it's done the job over the years .

Here On The GULF COAST???...its always HOT!.....however some of the nations temps are exceeding ours....But its temporary, that big hot bubble will pass.....Soon we will be commenting on the LOW temps....but never in Florida!.....

It's hot here on Sanibel, but it isn't the heat that is unbearable, but rather, the mosquitoes. They are unusually bad this year. Fog trucks spray every night, and just yesterday I watched a UH-1, outfitted with spray booms, making passes over a nearby pond. The "skeeters" are voracious little b...s....rds. No matter what time of day, you cannot leave your house without coating yourself in Deet spray, or at least some type of insect repellent.

On a different subject, I bought a video camera to mount on my bicycle. I plan to start making some short videos, which I will upload the links here....

I'm melting here in Northwest Indiana. It was 86ºF in my bedroom most of the night...

...with the window a/c unit going full blast!

Unfortunately, the compressor on my central air blew out about a week after the warranty ran out...

...and I simply can't afford the $1,000+ they want to replace it and recharge the system. :gameoff:

it isn't the heat that is unbearable, but rather, the mosquitoes.

I hear you! My new place is built on former swampy land. About 6 blocks from my house, it reverts to swampy land. Mosquitos???? More like bomber formations with millions of fighter escorts!!!

Just been outside with the dog and it's hot out there! Checked the weather site when I got in and it says 99°F with 51% humidity giving a 'feels like' temperature of 122°F!

This is CANADA! Where are the icebergs and snow drifts when you need them!

It hit 106 here in the sun today, 100 in the shade. And the humidity made it brutal.

I sure wish I was back up in Belleville, Ont. for a couple of days and cooler weather.

At midnight the temp has plummeted to 86 at Norfolk International (KORF). It got up to 98 today, could bust 100 in the next few days.

Went to our village shop to get the papers this morning.

Everyone was discussing how they had to switch on their central heating yesterday !

Even for here that's unusual in mid-July.

New U.S. tourist drive - come to Scotland to cool off ?

We just broke 102 near STL. It's hot and humid, better stay indoors and do some flying.
