How are our people in Tennessee fairing in this storm?

Hey all,

Everyone ok down there?

Made headline news at Yahoo, Nashville is in danger of a big flood.

Willy, are you online?

Well, here in southeast TN, (Farner, TN), the storm was not severe as predicted. The winds were fairly intense, but large amounts of rain, with thunder and lightning apparently missed us.

I live on a hill. So if I get flooded out, everyone else around me will already be floating!!!

Something to be said for living on hills!! :)

That said, that string of storms is moving ever so slowly north and northeast ... there are a lot of folks here that are going to be impacted.

Lets hope everyone makes it safely.

Yeah, we only got 15 inches or so...

(for the record, my birthday wish was NOT for rain...)

The Cumberland River in Nashville is expected to crest around 48 feet (8 or so feet above flood stage). Apparently it gets really bad (flooding downtown) at 55 feet, so it could be worse.

My house is most of the way up a hill, and my basement is mostly above ground, so we've got no damage, but our neighborhood has some flooded basements.

My daughter's school was a foot or so from being submerged, and they did recover a body from their soccer fields (which were). We are praying for his family and those of the others that were killed.
