How Are These One in the Same?

Interesting developments in just a few hours....

I saw the initial thread at work earlier today and couldn't wait to get home to download.

Imagine my surprise when I saw the original thread was locked and the download removed and the added accusations of piracy in place.

When I first saw the screen shots in the original thread it was pretty apparent this freeware Duck was nowhere near the Icarus version even before the comparison shots were posted here.

I hope the freeware Duck is re-instated or at least an alternate download site made available. We have so few freeware developers for FSX we can ill afford to drive them away.

Without sounding to perdantic, because it's the same bloody aircraft granted by different devs but it's the same! Grow up and Buy a bloody good model like the SU27 or the Dehaviland Rapid and stop this nonsense!

Please understand that this issue is being looked at pretty closely behind the scenes. We want to do the right thing, but no matter what way it goes we have to be absolutely certain that it is done the right way. I'm okay with how this thread started, and I understand the frustration, but with some of the recent replies it's getting to a point where it's going to get "the treatment".

Pete, did you see the original thread that this is related to?

I want to keep this thread the utmost of civil, and I must apologize for any reason that this thread turns sour. Robert, thank you for the efforts that you and the staff members have and are taking!

FWIW I am happy that the mods have taken this approach - I also want to see payware developers protected from piracy.

but this is going to result in an apology from Icarus, at least I hope he will do so for the sake of his enterprise.

This freeware Duck is in no way taken from the payware version

Just as another point, the freeware duck doesn't have the grossly oversized rivet heads that the Icarus one has. I think it's just a case of paralel development and Icarus is not handling it on a mature level

I guess the friendly warning didn't work so well. I'm sorry, but there is no way we're going down this road again. This one is done. Attempts to start it up again probably won't last nearly as long as this was able to.

Right now, we're giving Icarus a chance to prove his case before taking further action. I'm hoping he'll take it.
