How do I set "Engines On" at the beginning of each flight?

How do I set "Engines On" at the beginning of each flight?

Help. I installed a panel yesterday that seems to set "engines off" on every FS9 aircraft I have. Worse, some aircraft, mainly jets, will not even start. I'm fairly certain the since deleted panel made a change in some config file, but I have no idea what entry to look for.

Since I'm a "kick the tires, light the fires" guy, I want things back to how they used to be.

Any help and advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi,
From my limited knowledge, but unlimited optimism , what I do is start with the Cessna at KSEA...crack open the throttle about 8% , make sure the mixture is 100% and fire it up, then Save that flight as default and you might now find that all your aircraft will have their engines running when you start. Jets take a long time to spool up and that maybe why you think they're not firing up.

Andy.

Thank you, Andy. I'd completely forgotten about the config.sys. I deleted the default aircraft and let FS9 build a new file. Everything's up and running again and without altering all the other settings I'd had in the file.

Now I'm gonna slink over to the Dark Side and start asking dumb questions about FSX. I ran FSX last night on my laptop with ALL sliders maxed and I do believe it's time to transition.

Open your fs9.cfg with Notepad and search (Ctrl+F) for the word Situation. Erase anything after the "=" to return your default flight to the C-172 with the engine running at KSEA.

Thanks, Tom. That's exactly what I did so I could avoid cutting and pasting the preferred settings that would have been lost. I also had a heck of a time finding my FS9 config. I must have deleted it from my desktop and was able to chase it down by looking at an old post here asking where it was. So everything is "normal" again.

In my folder where I keep all of my FS files, I also keep a shortcut to the AppData FS9 folder. That way, I never have to remember where to find it! :dizzy:
