How do you fly in FSX?

I don't have one particular type of flying. It depends on my mood. Sometimes I will hop into one of my many many vintage radial powered birds and just take a nice fly about, looking at scenery and enjoying the sound of the radial engine. Other times, I fire up the IRIS Tornado and drop down into the Grand Canyon and see how far I can make it through the twisties. At times I like to fire up a heavy cargo plane (C-130, C-133, C-141) and fly cargo across country. Sometimes I fire up a nice STOL GA plane (Piper Super Pacer, Beaver, Norseman) and fly supplies deep into the Alaskan wilderness. And sometimes I'm in the mood for STOOPID flying....taking the default 747, kicking all the passengers, luggage and crew off the plane, emptying the wing tanks and flying full throttle, right at Mach1, upside down, 500 feet off the ground.

Flying in PNW or Oz,I'll go low slow to appreciate OrbX's stuff, in the UK a bit faster & fly VFR on Horizons scenery, seeing what I can recognise from real life,sometimes I will pick a random plane (from the 1000+ in my hanger) & random airport & just blast it.Sadly I don't have long at each session so it depends on the mood. but flying in the RTW or any SOH event is a great concentrator of the mind. That's why prb's suggestion above seems like a good one!


I take off a LOT more than I land :jump:
 
Mostly flying in Canada BC or Alaska these days, last night flew a C47 from Unalakleet to Hog River then on to Kavik River and on upto Prudhoe Bay.

Followed this flight with a trip from Orcas Island to Squamish in the Bellanca Viking nice low 'n' slow over the sea at sunset.

I just did that exact flight in reverse in my Cessna 185 :) Very nice area out over the Howe Sound and Salish Sea.

I mostly stick to Southern BC, lots of flights between Comox and Abbotsford (would make a great OrbX field with an airshow option like Avalon hint hint ;)) sometimes going north up the coast. Lots of nice little places to land up there.
 
for me it is mainly small hops, checking out my latest paint.
Other times, there is a certain screenshot I want to make, so I'll mess around with that, trying to get it right.
Finally, I sometimes, but rarely, do small hops from one small field to the next just for fun. Bundy to Hervey is a recent favorite.
