How to cancell the snow trails effect ?

Here is a take off with private L-39C N139CK from Quebec International ( CYQB )
on a beautifull january winter sunny morning.

Look at the well cleaned up and perfectly snowplowed runway
and
Look at the snow trails created by the wheels of the landing gear

This is absolutly non realistic at all ! ! !

My question : How to cancell this non realistic snow trails effect !

Thanks for the help !

It's interesting how the dust cloud effect from the wheels can turn on/off when you enter/leave paved runways.

Why can't the same be used for the snow/spray effect?

Like so many other 'feature' effects in flight sims, this one is way over the top in FSX...I would like to keep the effect if it could be reduced to just the most minimal spray behind the tires, and greatly reduced 'prop wash' effect to almost nil

Find the .fx file in use and copy and rename it for safety then open the original file and tweak the settings in Notepad until you like what you see.

Many things have been done in the sim by modders but sometimes you just have to do it yourself.

Oh BTW, once you have something you like SHARE IT! :icon_lol:

hmmm...I'll have to try that

here's hoping it doesn't end in complete failure:kilroy: and an FSX re-install lol

That's why you back-up the original file first so that you can replace any botched attempts. Changing just one effect file should not blow up FSX.
