• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

I finally got the server to redirect all http traffic on port 80 to https port 443.

This might cause some issues with any members who had bookmarked the non https pages. You might notice you have to log in again.

The forum software and specifically the log in cookies seem to be domain name specific.

Although it is still the same site

http://www.sim-outhouse.org
https://sim-outhouse.org
https://www.sim-outhouse.org

These are all different log in cookies.

The best thing to do is standardize any bookmarks you have to
https://sim-outhouse.org

In general you can omitt the www. it will work but isn't necessary.

If you go to the root of the site the server will redirect you to the https non www. home pages.

Will this fix the problem that I have with Spectrum, (a.k.a. Charter) from blocking our site on my Windows P.C?

I can log into the SOH if I use my I phone operating in data mode and I can log on to the SOH using my I Pad working with Safari

No the only way to fix that is to log into your spectrum router and turn off the advanced feature or create an exception if that is an option.
