SOH-CM-2022
If like me you use a Quest for VR and also use the OpenXR Toolkit, there was a bug introduced with the latest version of the Meta Quest Link software (v68)
The bug will stop MSFS from starting up and it will CTD.
I've stent about the last week banging my head against the wall trying to trouble shoot this before stumbling across the details in the last couple of days.

The problem is not with OpenXR, it's the v68 update but there are a couple of workarounds.
You can either open the OpenXR app and disable it until Meta release v69 or you can open the Meta Quest Link app and enable the Public Test Channel in the Beta tab on the Settings page.

I hope this is some help to anyone else that's run into this.

Edit. I almost forgot apparently this is also relevant to DSC too

I fly in MSFS with a Quest and Virtual Desktop running OpenXR. I use the OpenXR Toolkit. My headset got the v68 update today. So far, so good, but I hope that remains the case...

Honestly, if you use VR Desktop, with the Quest 3, you can just forego OpenXR Toolkit and get great performance.

I use Virtual Desktop with the OpenXR codex and I haven't had any problems. I flew for over an hour this afternoon.

Can someone explain how to use Virtual Desktop - does it work with the link cable?
When you put the headset on, you will get a row of button/icons on the bottom. One of these is the Virtual Desktop. It is sort of Blue. If you don't see it, make sure you have opened the VD program in apps. Push the Virtual Desktop button with your finger or controller and it will open with your computer screen.

I wait until I have MSFS running with the airplane on the screen. Then I push an assigned button which puts me into VR mode.

I hope this helps, if not let me know and I can walk you through it with more detail.

P.S. Yes it works with the Link cable. However, I run it wireless.

Thanks John, I tried it out tonight - only via wireless and my VR seems more stable but I do need to work on the bitrate etc as the quality is worse, but reliabilitity is better overall.
