HU: Mi-4...

It makes sense to substitute the S-55 air file for that of the Mi-4 since they're both so much alike. I'll check out what you've posted. Thanks!

EDIT: Copied and renamed the .air file, then plugged in what you had re: the S-55, the bird sinks right into the concrete on a default runway and moves down the runway like a submarine, beneath the surface.

Did you copy the entire S-55 config info to the Mi-4 config, or only change the contact points to what they are listed?

I havent used the Mi-4 airfile or config.
Its totally crap and the russian Author isnt available.
I have used the S-55 airfile and config
and have renamed it to Mi-4 Aeroflot.air
and have modified the title (the fltsim.0 thing)
and the S55 contactpoints.
Another changes in my experience let the heli bounce and so on.
Im not a airfile designer,i will only fly and this was all what i have done.
Its far away from perfect but better as before .
It sinks a little bit in the scenery when your start but anyway is a fast mild mod
and with enough time to modify maybe perfect .
And the S55 looks like the Brother of the Mi-4 and was for me a better base as a
another heli.
only that in the ( ...) have changed to get the exact static
The rest was default unmodified S55 Data.
Its only tested with the aeroflot model.
See the pic how it looks on my sim.

I have used the S-55 airfile and config
And in the config .. you have deleted the lights configuration (or they are scattered everywhere .. lol)
This is the lights config I use ....

[lights]

//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing

light.0 = 3, 15.31, -3.22, -0.56, fx_navred
light.1 = 3, 15.36, 2.85, -0.55, fx_navgre
light.2 = 3, -24.86, -0.11, -0.21, fx_navwhi
light.3 = 1, 4.71, -1.80, -5.70, fx_beacon ,
light.4 = 4, 11.71, -1.80, 4.50, fx_strobe ,
light.5 = 5, 24.07, 0.45, -5.10, fx_landing ,
light.6 = 5, 24.07, -0.01, -5.10, fx_landing ,

No,havent delete it.
I have copied the mi-4 lights config to the s55 file.
Well the lights config from the original is only present in the Mi4-FI model and is very scarce .. LOL

[LIGHTS]
//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing
light.0=1, 19.60, 0.00, 2.30, fx_beacon ,

This Russian helicopter is very strange .. :)
I wonder if the creator had tested it or let comments somewhere about some 'beta" issues :)
The only comments in the ZIP file are:
Panel copy of Vladislav Tretjâk.Sound taken from Aeroflot Mi-4 and copy in Mi-4FI and Mi-4YU.

If you have any suggestions please write to me.

greeting
Even the gauges or textures for panel are not included ....

Navtech I forgot to mention your lights are spot-on on the Finnish helicopter, they work fine so that's a plus out of this mess.

I would pick something like this to try and modify!:isadizzy:
