HU: New F-106A Delta Dart by Rob Richardson

The F 106 was never intended for DX10, sorry.
But it's an FSX SDK model, and other than this one windscreen glitch, it works perfectly in DX10! :) (And for some of us, that means significantly faster frame rates and much better visuals.)

I'm not well versed in texturing, etc. but from previous occurrences of similar issues, I think it's just an issue with a missing alpha channel image or something, right? Is this something can be fixed with tweaking the textures, or would it require a fix on the model?

I'd be happy to help in any way to fix this, Rob, as far as testing it goes. I'd hate to see a significant portion of FSX users miss this awesome model that otherwise works perfectly in DX10.

(I realize you can reboot FSX in DX9. But that requires a complete, time-consuming restart, and on my rig, it cuts performance dramatically. Plus you lose all the DX10 effects and your water gets ugly. : )

I gave up with DX10 a long time ago and it did not even occur to me to test this model using it. I could never get the lights to work as they should and the glass texture was always a problem to me. I'll have a look at it, the interior model may need re-compiling, and if I come up with a solution I will put a link up in this thread.

Thanks so much for looking into it, Rob! The lights all look great; the only issue I see is the windscreen.

Just uploaded this - 59-0145 from the 48th FIS, Langley AFB VA, flown by Capt Bill McNelis around 1980. I've also put in corrected wing textures and a proper thumbnail for the 101st bird!!:redf: Sorry!
