I ate to much

Sort of like the three stages of Christmas .......

1. I feel hungry.

2. I feel full.

3. I feel sick.

Pete.

At least you all look better than a tick.

I pace myself. It would be a shame to be full before sampling the wide selection of pies.

Hubby and I went to my sister-in-law's for Thanksgiving Dinner. She is a fantastic cook! The meal was beyond delicious.

Turkey with stuffing
Mashed potatoes and gravy
Sweet potatoes with brown sugar, nuts and marshmallows on top.
Bacon-wrapped, grilled asparagus.
Chopped brussel sprouts cooked with pancetta.
House Salad with choice of dressing
Homemade rolls with butter

Desserts:

Homemade pumpkin cheesecake
Homemade pumpkin pie
Homemade chocolate mousse cake

Today was Thanksgiving Part 1. Deb and I spent about 5 hours at her sister Tina's house...having Thanksgiving with her and their dad....this being his last Thanksgiving (we're hoping he makes it to Christmas).

Roasted Turkey
Stuffing
Mashed Potatoes
Green Bean Casserole
Seasoned Green Beans
Baked Beans
Wide Egg Noodles
Deviled Eggs X 2 (Deb made some, Tina made some..both were really good, but Deb's are world class)
Rolls (those cheap Brown and Serve rolls that are the BOMB!)
Cranberry Jelly
Cheese (two or three kinds)
Olives
Sweet Baby Pickles
Crackers
Pumpkin Pie
Raspberry/Cherry Pie

Because our dogs has spent so much time in their kennel, I brought Deb home, pottied the dogs, then ran back over to help Tina clean up and to do some more work on her computer. I offered to do the dishes, but Tina refused...she doesn't like for other people to wash her dishes. We watched a movie while the puter was downloading and installing Windows updates.

Tommorow, Deb and I will have Thanksgiving Part 2 at home. Just us and our Fur Kids. A much simpler affair.

Roast Turkey Breast
Mashed Potatoes
Green Beans
Baked Beans (left over from today)
Deviled Eggs (left over from today)
Stuffing
Cheese (good Amish Colby)
Crackers
Cranberry Jelly
Icecream (Mint and Cookies and Cream)

I ate more today than I have eaten in the last couple months...but even that wasn't a great deal. I had two plates, but I had small scoops of everything. Ate enough to be full, but not stuffed. Though I am now paying for all the various beans I ate today....I wish I still had my WW2 gas mask LOL!

Tim~ You and Deb have the same tradition that hubby and I have. We will also have our own Thanksgiving Dinner tomorrow.

We started that tradition about 3 years ago and we love it, because we get to have leftovers!
Nothing beats a good turkey sandwich the day after Thanksgiving!
In our case, the turkey sandwich will be for Saturday :)

WOW ! I alreadty hungry again:jump:

Hey C9G,

Is there any secret to that or do you just take the asparagus and wrap it in bacon?

Regards,
Stratobat

Stratobat~ We actually spread a mixture of cream cheese and chives on the pancetta slice and then wrap it around the asparagus spears.
