I have been a working little Fokker!

SOH-CM-2024
I did all of Aeroplane Heaven's default E.IIIs and the two E.IVs. I have painted three more E.IIIs of my own.

I still may work on the metal, but I have sent nothing up yet. There are two fairings on the landing gear struts that appear chrome and I cannot find the textures for them. Also, my wing warping cabane strut is black and I want it the same color as the landing gear struts. I have not located the texture map for this yet either.

And the yellow pushrods when the engine is off, argh! What is that and are they in the textures? They should be steel. Any AH members here? Please help!

OleBoy, I am doing a .psd Paint Kit and will release it when I have all the info above and finalize in. All new textures and details, holes for control wires, bottom stitching for the fuselage fabric, real doped linen and official paint textures, corrected frames lines with new gradients, new and correct lift and handling position locations and correct legends for them; "Heir anfassen" in the front two points and "Heir unterstüten" in the rear point.

The metal was engine turned judging by photos. here is a sample of the type of texture
EngineTurn_01.JPG

but I don't know how well the texture will show up in the sim or when applied to the model. it's a lot of work to apply and I would speculate that it was done on the real plane to cut down on reflectivity from the bare metal though paint would be cheaper and faster so it may have been purely an decorative touch

i'd use that swirl then invert the alpha on it... old trick i learnt when drawing rivets... black got no alpha and the white got the alpha... will experiment tonight on the old eindecker see what i can come up with, and Caz keep up the great work beers on me in the outhouse mess this evening :ernae:

This is correct. Have a look at the pics of our originals. We have tried to replicate engine turning. For anyone interested the readmores have a bit of history and other shots etc. http://www.heavenlyhangars.com/READMORE/WW1/index.html
