I got my new old Gatway back.It was a complete rebuild.Coast $250 and an old refrigerater. My frams with everything maxed out on the stock scenery using stock aircraft is between 38 and 77 frames a sec. depending on the color of the clouds.I was getting on my old pc about 55 frames a sec with a setting of 1224X768X32.Now with CFS2 maxed out and a setting of 1440X900x32 I am getting much higher frame rates.I am running an ATI HD 4300/4500 series vid card and 2 gigs ram.I am not sure about the rest, still learning about Vista Home Permium 32.To leory10 bring on thoes 256 bitmap trees and I will plant them all over the place for you.Over all my graphics are 100% better.

Congratulations bobhegf!

I can understand your giddy factor. :jump: Me had an old Dell box with Windows ME on it till two years ago.

You can't even explain the difference as far as the visuals go, updating to newer hardware and all.

When you get a chance post some screenies of CFS2 from your new set-up.
And a place to cool your brew too...can't beat that!

I have been running win98se for 10years. This limitted the vid and use of CFS2 to about half of what most people have now. I am glade to say I hope I am up with the rest of the group now.I have not been able to put in things like alot of clouds in the missions I fly and the weather played a big part in the air combat that pilots flew in durring WW2.To give you some idea of what I am talking about this is a mission flown from Henderson Field Guadalcanal in Sept of 1942. 34 F4Fs went up to entercept 36 Zeros getting ready to attack the airfield.Out of all thoes planes because of the weather and cloud cover only 20 planes on the two sides saw any combat at all.The other aircraft got seperated and never saw each other. This is the type of thing I have not been able to reproduce on my old pc but am to a great extent on the newer one.i have never been able to run CFS2 wide open now I can and still for the most part get good frame rates.
