I used to have a life...

I just fly around aimlesly...LOL

I wish I could do that.

But NOOOOO, I have to take on missions that say very hard and get my as kicked. So what do I do? Try it again; fail. Do you think I can pass up that cool million creds? Nope.

I did one mission for about 4 hours last night and never did finish it. :isadizzy::icon_lol:

Do you think that I'll do it again tonight? don't know, but I'll let you know.

Some of us are sticking to "Very Easy" until we have more than two E-M Plasma Cannon to play with.

...escorting tankers right now. Enthralling. Honest! :engel016:

The miner I'm supposed to be escorting with the tanker got caught up in a whole horde of Xenon Ms and got shredded. It has one system left to limp through, but I don't think it's gonna make it.She cannae take no more, Jim!

lolol.... Oh man..

Your speed is probably down to 20 or 30 M/S. arrgh... Thats going to be a long escort journey..

Bill

It wasn't. Five Xenon Elites made sure of that about 20k out from the destination.

Ouch.

Even the seven or eight Argon military ships that appeared out of nowhere couldn't stop them before they popped both the freighter and tanker, then wiped out my shields before I got them to lose interest.

Ho hum! Back to the storyline...

Ya know sometimes I wonder if this game really is an online game and people sneak into your world and raise cane every now and then. :icon_lol:

Marlin, it's the boogey man that sneaks in and mess things up. LOL

I've mess up from a saved start and as long as I didn't dock I'd quit out and restart the same save again. Better results?... not always. But then the "jobs" I was trying when I messed up didn't show again. This sim is like a dynamic campaign.. it doesn't alway gos as you plan or think it will. There's many variables that are constantly changing. One job would have paind me over 2 million credits. Seeing I quity out for screwing things up and themn going back to do it over... that same "job" ws no longer there. Boy was I p*@@&d.

I used to play EvE-Online. Don't talk to me about ganking.

Ian, what in hell is ganking? I know you're in the UK but I've never heard that one before.... anywhere. Is it ganging up on someone or something?

ganking is a word commonly used in online video games, usualy used in an MMORPG. Ganking is the process in which a group of charecters gang up on one or more players that do not have a chance to defend themselves, Or when one high level player does the same action to a player way below his or her own level..

wait i'm a Ganker.... Yes i made sure the first letter was a G 5 times :icon_lol: i'm addicted for sure, just running freight around like a mad man...

In EVE? Far more likely to be a whole group of people in high level ships targetting individual week-or-so-old players in cruisers.

There's a simple trick to it - take two interceptors (high level frigates - smallest class of ship). Give one a webbing device, the other a warp scrambler. These two web, then scramble, the innocent cruiser so it can't escape. Then the bug guys take it out in one or two shots.

If you do this in the starter areas or close to the starter areas, you can make a mint very quickly just by collecting and selling the salvage from the destroyed ships. Plus killing people who don't know how to defend themselves, let alone having the equipment to, is apparently "fun".:173go1:

You guys tlaking about sticking with Very Easy and Easy Missions... they don't pay all that much. ;) Some of the Very Hard Missions aren't all that bad.

I had a VH Mission tonight that odered the taking out of only 2 ships. I got them and made 1,900,000 credits. But it turned out to be a con job by a Split. Once I destroyed the ships I lost recognition. LOL Now all Argon are highlited in red. No one is attacking me going thru sectors to get back to Argon tho. And once back and heading to my lair, they're still not attacking. I think I just might survive and be able, sommehow, to get my good standing back... I hope. I look at it this way, credits are credits and ya got to make em to eat and survive. ;)

And be very leary of taking on passengers.... sometimes they are not who they appear to be. They will "KEEEELL you!", as Achmed The Dead Terrorist would say. :bump:

HeHe. Ganking is THE reason I'm zooming around in the universe now :running:

I had enough of it in EverQuest and World of Warcraft to last a lifetime. It usually refers to someone or some group stalking your online character. It is sometimes also extended to what certain "organizations" do online to get items and $$$ to sell on their online sites. They "camp" NPC's 24/7 "ganking" regular players......

Some people just love to ruin the fun of others.......

EDIT: Ooops, already answered.....

It's only considered "ganking" if it is done to another player who is unable to defend themselves/do anything about it.

Think of it this way... If every time you buy a new ship, an elite Xenon battlegroup appear out of nowhere, blow it up, you might be a bit miffed. Now imagine it happening every time you buy a new ship and you'll start understanding why EVE is having problems retaining new players. The Moderators and developers actively promote player-versus-player piracy as being one of the primary intents of the universe they created.

You can't gank anything in X3, sorry... No multiplayer, let alone PvP, functionality. :d

Yeah, but I can think of it as the "one against the many". It's the "Live long and prosper theory" I have in X3. ;)
