The UK has a very long history of building three wheeled vehicles and I used to own one when I lived in the UK.

One of the biggest selling points is that three wheeled vehicles are classified in the same tax group as a motorcycle and sidecar and therefore you pay a much smaller 'road tax' per year and people with only a motorcycle driving licence can drive them when they cannot drive a regular car without first taking a car driving test. In this enviro-friendly world they also use a lot less fuel than a standard car.

That new Morgan certainly looks a lot like the ones they made in the 1940's and I'd love to have one.

My brother had a Reliant Robin while I had the older Reliant Supervan III for one winter.

They were a lot of fun and meant that I at least stayed relatively warm and dry rather than having to ride my motorcycle through yet another damp and cold British winter.
 
...It's stated that it uses a V-twin engine. Doubtful it'd be a Harley engine so I wonder who builds it? Or maybe the engine is manufactured in house by the Morgan Car Co. Like their roadsters,....daydreams are build around them,...but unfortunately probably won't make it to the States.
Definitely made for countryside motoring,........too many goofies that would smash into it in suburban and urban areas.

Always did like those but figured they'd quit making them years ago. Back in the mid 70s when I was stationed at Holy Loch Scotland, there was one we'd see running the local roads now and then.
 
I didn't know Morgan 3-wheelers were still around. I remember Peter Sellers' character Hrundi Bakshi drove one in the movie The Party, I thought it was pretty neat.
 
IIRC it is a Harley, but 're-worked'.
Way back when I started my first term at Duntroon I owned a Mog powered by a hot JAP 1100.
It was a blast to drive but it had an unfortunate habit of dumping oil out of the rocker covers, and, much to my chagrin, it did so on two occasions onto my female companions ......... :173go1:
No nookie for me as a result!!
She was very quick, and not only cleared ones sinus's but also kept earwax under control, while the high pucker factor was great for muscle control.

Actually it's not a Morgan at all, but it's American! (Though neither parties will admit it) It's based on the ACE cycle car from Seattle. The engine is a Harley Davidson Screamin' Eagle, 1.802 cc with over 100 hp. When it was first announced that Morgan would be making a tricycle again a few months ago, they used photos of the ACE. The Morgan differs in details from the ACE. The ACE sells for about $48,000 in the USA.

Edit: The Morgan's engine is made by 'S & S', has 115 hp and the car is slightly heavier than the ACE is.

Cool ride though!
 
I figured the price tag would be steep. And I wouldn't want to attempt driving it in a place like, say Atlanta. It would be akin to suicide.

As for three-wheelers: One wheel short of a real car, one wheel and an engine in excess of a bicycle and thus totally uninteresting for me.

Yep...that TG episode was brilliant.

The only bike/car hybrid that would interest me would be a Smart car or original Mini powered by a (turbo'd) Hayabusa bike engine. Google them and marvel at their awesomeness :d
