thanks we are trying to add best details also to the virtual cockpit, probably this will be our best one model..and one of the best p38.

no the fiesler is the next one to be released and then horten229 ..the p38 will be avaible later.

i have just posted a video for people asked me about a preview of the p38

Nice video, I hope this is not the final model? Looks like the center fuselage, stabilizer and wing roots need some work as they do seem to be out of proportion (left most picture is the Icarus model from the video, to the middle and right a drawing and a photo of the real thing for comparison):

Keep up the good work :wavey:

while I agree is that everyone is free to model whatever they like, I do need to ask the quuestion:
why another P-38J? We already have versions by Sky unlimited, FSD and the old AH, all including J models, and I have all of them. That is more than enough for me, so I will not be buying this one.
Why not an earlier model, like a F or H? That would be far more interesting, well, for me anyway...

icarusgold p38j external model built...there will be also other versions about p38

do not remember you say why another gladiator?.... i could say why another spitfire, why another p51d etc, because exist something called progress...or we still fly on FS98...i have maked principally rare aircraft and who wrote that there will not be an f, H, I, L,M version? please understand that a PREVIEW is only a preview not a sentence.

i am interested to make ALL p38 version so this is only a preview about p38j(but there will not be a p38 pack with all version, they will be separately because should be a pack of at least 6 gb) each pack will have tons of skin more than thirty each one. Really didn't understand why someone should always write i will not buy when someone post a preview or release a model..it's so interesting to others? The only effect is that will cut lot of sales and create problems to a little company....then probably no more icarus...if this was the effect you are near to the final result. Or we want start another polemic as the last one...and that roger close also this thread? Sorry but i m here to talk about models not to answer at i like dont like i buy dont buy i fly don't fly.

hope to have explained doubts.

Now about the photos over comparing i have used another method to check differences, so it is clear that the extrapolated p38 from our video was inclinated front and on the right part, so differences are very minimal or noone. Obviously all plans and model will be checked before go release.

i suspect that now there will a photo from palomar mountain compared to something else(i am joking)

Its refreshing to see a payware company making the projects they want, purely because they love the plane.

I can supply some documents , manuals , drawings if you need them .

few minutes ago i have spoken with my other modeller, after horten 229 modifies and arado four engine 234 built this week, he will dedicates his completely attention to all p38 versions. So all will be happy who want the J version and who want others versions.

Like Jankees I too have all three P-38 versions. However, each version has its faults. None of them are perfect. I look forward to your version of the P-38. Don't forget to include firing guns.

My favorite is the "L" because of the dive brakes. Did the late "J's" have them?

all our models have firing guns...except pitts dragon and gamma that didn't have on real. I came from CFS's world so guns always!(and bombs with the duck). I will build also a L version

i should be able to add also rockets at least on flights

I said it because I would like an early model, that's all. I thought you were planning just J, my mistake, sorry!

yes but the next is the fiesler 156 possible release february 15, horten is under modifies for the glass reflex addiction. Tonight i was working on making new instruments graphics for fieseler 156 taken from original one , if all goes well it will be nice.

This is looking good Icarus, I'm glad you decided to make as many variants as possible. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.
