I had to move some of my games to a different drive as Windows 10 does weird things on the C drive. I experienced a similar issue with CFS3. I could see the files in the CFS3 folder but I could not access them in the game. I moved the games to an external drive and everything worked. Sometimes moving the program outside of the default Programs Files/Program Files (x856) will let it work.
it doesn't mean the hardware providers have fully maintained all this backward compatibility within their architecture.
