• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

I'd like to try and help Devildog73 lick this...

I had to move some of my games to a different drive as Windows 10 does weird things on the C drive. I experienced a similar issue with CFS3. I could see the files in the CFS3 folder but I could not access them in the game. I moved the games to an external drive and everything worked. Sometimes moving the program outside of the default Programs Files/Program Files (x856) will let it work.

I'm still suspecting hardware.

IIRC the VN ships were developed using FSDSv.1 & I suspect the brand new gaming laptop that Lee has uses graphics hardware that is so new it doesn't recognise the (very old) draw calls that FSDSv.1 uses.

MS will claim DX12 is fully backwards compatible, but even if we believe that :stupid: it doesn't mean the hardware providers have fully maintained all this backward compatibility within their architecture.

Nobody else is reporting the same issues, but has anybody else replaced their hardware as recently as Lee has?
If they have, & can see the VN ships, how about comparing hardware specs instead?:icon36:
