• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Alright now, every time we have an 'identify this airfield' or 'identify this plane' it's usually nailed within an hour. I don't even have a chance. I know noone can, but it actually and literally seems to me like some of you know every plane and every airfield. It's uncanny and insane.

So here we are. I have a picture, and this one is arguably as hard or harder as some of the hardest identifications we've done around here.

What airfield is this?

Hamilton AFB, in CA! It must be a WW-II era base, with those WW-II looking parking spots.

Give this man a big cigar and a :icon29:.

It's quite derelict now, but when I was in the Navy, I attended an airshow there in '72 when the T-birds were flying Phantoms.

I went there on my T-38 out and back.
Long haul from LAFB.
The return trip was the only time I ever flew with a hangover --
never again.

Nothing like 100% for those kind of flights. :bump:

I will keep those kinds of sorties to myself. I wouldn't want to be a bad influence on today's youth.

Besides, I don't know if the stature of limitations is up?

Are you kidding me? I figured that was way too hard, and that I was being unfair. How did you do that? That was the third guess!!

I'm gonna go look for something WAAAAAAY harder.
