IJN Rabaul Campaign

Hey Guys,
I just uploaded the final part of my campaign series about IJN fighters in the SOuth Pacific. This time it is the final defense of Rabaul against Allied air strikes, and bomber escort missions against the various Allied landings that eventually cut off and bypassed Rabaul.

A few action shots....

A new entry has been added to Add-Ons Library, category CFS 2 Campaigns Add-Ons

Description: This is the fifth, and final, part of my series of campaigns covering fighter operations of the IJN Air Force over New Guinea, the Solomons and New Britain from 1942 to early 1944.
It picks up where the IJN Solomons campaign ended, in September 1943, and runs until February 1944, when the Japanese withdrew their planes from Rabaul, which had by this time been surrounded by the Allies and cut off from being supplied.
You will fly A6M3 and later A6M5 Zeros in the last attempts to defend southern Bougainville against American bomber raids, then withdraw to Rabaul and continue fighting against Allied air raids there. In between you have to escort bombers attempting to counter Allied landings in the Treasury Islands, at Empress Augusta Bay and finally on New Britain, on the doorstep to Rabaul.

Thanks!

Nice! I just downloaded it.

Those are great quality images, I'm thinking you have a newer/better video card than mine or perhaps you have some good mods?

My card is pretty old but still a good one, Nvidia Geforce GTX 650 Ti on win7.

There is very little I can find on video control panel settings for CFS2... anyways, I'm looking forward to playing these IJN campaigns !

I know you worked long and hard on these missions,Great job.

You remind me of Al (Talon) that would work hard on his campaigns. He told me long ago his favorites were the AVG and Solomons (Guadalcanal) campaigns.Seems only a few are willing to do campaigns these days.
People don't really know how much time and effort it takes to research everything.

Hi Skylane

Wunderbar! Now we have a comprehensive coverage of this area. Great work :applause:
I did not even finish the previous campaigns ... and with Andrew Wai's new planes I do not know how to keep up installing all these nice easter eggs:dizzy:

Thanks very much Wolfgang for these latest missions which I'm sure will be a pleasure to fly. :applause:

Thank you!!! :applause:

Nice to see some more Japanese-side campaigns. Might motivate me to built an updated-scenery installation of CFS2 PTO at last. I never took the time to use updated PTO meshes, though stock scenery Rabaul has always been a disappointment to me.

Thanks for all your nice comments. 🙂
Yes, that was a lot of work, but something I wanted to do for a long time. Well, actually I wanted to do the Japanese side of the Guadalcanal campaign, and then got carried away just a little...😁

Roxane, I agree that the stock Rabaul is very basic, as is the whole area. But with UncleTgt's sceneries the whole of the Solomons, New Guinea, Bismarcks really comes to life, and it is a pleasure just to fly around and explore the area. Try it and see the difference!
