• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

I heard something about this on the radio last night. They were able to hack in with software readily available on the internet. They also said your home DVD recorder has more security than the UAVs hacked into. I don't understand it. You spend a billion dollars on one of these things and figure your enemys are going to try and figure out a way to neutalize it? No these things will probaly all be grounded until they figure out a fix. :isadizzy:

Panther is a comm guy, and I'm sure he's proud of it. His job doesn't directly deal with or work on aircraft.:ernae:

Yes, but he is also in the new Cyber Command. That is what I was referencing. Still, if he knows anything it will be classified. So.... we mere peons will never know. Until it is leaked by some congressman's aide, that is.

The terrorists who were viewing the video feed did not buy the software for $26.

They downloaded it free from a torrent site. :icon_lol:

Whew for a minute I was concerned that we were hacked for $26.

The news media (as tends to always be the case) ran wild with this story and made it seem far worse than it actually was. I won't get into the specifics of what happened and why, but there was never any risk of losing control of the aicraft. Further, this is really very old news and we have tactics to keep it from happening.
