• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

I am having issues with this A/C. As soon as it loads eilther in the mission on in free flight, it rolls over and explodes. No opportunity to even start the engine.
Any ideas?
 
Sound like bad contact_points. Somethings is wrong with the gear or the plane is to high and drops on the ground and snaps the gear. Can you start in the air in FF and land just fine?
 
allen ,thanks for the prompt response. I have shut down my sim computer for the night. I will followup tomorrow and let you know.

Check Ito's Ilushyn 2 Sturmovik... a real jewel... I am working on a very nice HD repaint of it... just started, here is the WIP:
(still have to do detail work... weathering, etc.)

I found this one in one of my CFS 2 installations of several years ago... and started to toy with it...
I have lots of Ito's models that work fine in CFS 2...
At any rate... I am doing this one only for my enjoyment in the sim... won't post it...

The sim requires Thicko's. Il-2.
When flying in quick combat, the right gear is down and will not retract. I can lower the left gear and land and when I do carefully,I can see the right gear collapse on landing. :dizzy:
Anyone know how to fix this?
 
The link I posted was to the Il-2 by Thicko. I think it is the one your haveing prob with but I finding it working just fine.
 
I reinstalled this A/C and still the same problem, right gear down in qc and won't retract. Left gear extends and retracts as it should. In free flight or mission , it flips to the right, turns upside down even before startup and explodes. :banghead: Any other A/C operate normally.
 
This thing is messing with my mind! I d/l the 1942 version and flew it in the same sim and from the same airbase and qc and it worked just fine. Gear up and down. ?? I will try to install again!

Maybe there is a conflict with one of the other aircraft you have installed. I have no other Il-2s in my installs. Try remove some aircraft and/or put the bugged Il-2 into another CFS2 install if you have one.

I think I discovered the problem. I have to leave for the evening. Will report tomorrow.

The problem was somewhere in the A/C folder I was using to reinstall from. I had some other skins in there along with the air.cfg files that may have gotten corrupted. Since I know little about how they all interwork I went back to the sim site and did a new d/l of the original A/C and installed. All seems ok now.
