Nice shots! I really like the lighting that you had going for them. I foolishly always take many shots in the morning because there arn't as many people. The trouble is they can look washed out in the background because of the light. The pictures, not the people. :)
I really have to look through my pictures and post some of them.
Trouble there is that I took 757 pictures in three days!!!!
Hard to pick which ones to post.

Beautiful shot Bomber. Thanks for posting them. It looks the the weather cleared up and everybody had a good time.

I REALLY want to catch the Mosquito before it leaves NZ..suppose to be at the Omaka Air Show in April next year so heres hoping, but theres still a lot of work to do to it.

Those Mustangs look pretty shiny and immaculate.

Thank you, all! Compared to other years I have gone, I wasn't all that impressed by the airshow portions, but I did really enjoy seeing a lot of the 'specialty/unique' aircraft that came for this years show - the Seafire, Zero, FG-1D, DC-7, DC-2, and Dragon Rapide being the highlights for me.

Bill, I thought of you as soon as I saw this guy taxi by...

Beautiful photos, I notice the Mustangs have the armour plate on top of the seat and the canopy brace with all these little holes. Makes them look more complete really, not like the 2 seaters with their open rear space. Wonder why no one has ever thought of making them clip on and off for when its not being used as a 2 seater.
Really makes me feel good to see the De Havilland biplane as that was restored in NZ! Regarding the mosquito shirts it really shows the level of interest in the Mossie project and the expectation for it to show in 2011...I will certainly go see it at Omaka next year when it nmakes its first public debut.
Thanks John for showing the photos, a worthwhile trip I can see it was.

Mark, while these Mustangs that I photographed, do have the armor plate, canopy brace, and rear radios, there is in fact a piece, like you have thought of, that those with two-seat Mustangs can fasten in-place over the rear seat/controls, to make it look like there is a real armor plate and radios installed. Here is a page about it: http://www.courtesyaircraft.com/Old%20Inventory/N63476%20Roush%20Replica%20Installaion.htm

The same Roush-team that offers them, also has fiber-glass replica drop tanks (paper and metal) as well as replica bombs, for mounting to your Mustang.

Great shots Bomber, cant help but notice the lack of people in your shots howd ya manage that? I went on friday and it was packed getting shots without people was tough and a long wait.

Hey Emil,

My static-shots were all taken either Saturday evening, or early Sunday morning. Unfortunately I wasn't able to see as many warbirds as I would have going on Thursday or Friday, but at these select times, there is usually very limited numbers of people around (a bit more so than usual on Saturday night, due to the night show). I also tend to walk straight to an aircraft that people are just walking away from, and wait for the next one to clear. :)

My favorite sets of photos, were of the F-6D Lil' Margaret, and the DeHavilland Dragon Rapide - as I got to stand next to them, amongst only a couple other people, while the aircraft started-up and taxied out. At both of these times, the lighting was great as well, so I got about ten or so photos of both experiences.
