Impulse 100 from iniBuilds Released

It’s out! Where are your impressions, guys? :)

The price is low enough that I’m marginally tempted. I do use the Got Friends Vertigo a lot when I want to do some high-speed sightseeing. This looks to be very much in the same class. Perhaps too similar to the Vertigo, though, given identical instrumentation and similar performance/visibility.

Talk me into buying this, y’all!

The flight model of the Vertigo is set up with a PT6, but the visual doesn't match. Still, you get your money's worth since it's free.

With this one, you get a visual model that matches the flight model, which to me is a big part of the immersion factor.

I'm trying to avoid buying every. dang. plane. that interests me, so holding off for now. But anxious to hear impressions if any of y'all do get it. I'm easily swayed.

I'm planning on picking it up this weekend. I get paid Friday and usually fly on the weekends only, so it doesn't make sense to get it now.

I don't have an Inibuild account and try to limit the places I have to check to update add-ons to 10 or so (usual suspects). I would prefer to purchase this from sim-market, so patiently waiting until it's available there.

Picked it up and took a short flight. As expected the plane is speedy and climbs with exhilaration. I'm disappointed with the roll rate (possibly due to tip tanks). I thought with the aileron spades the roll rate would have been better...oh well. I have no knowledge of the real aircraft performance and would hope the developer has accurately modeled it. Watch for ballooning on landing...proper speed on final very critical.

Just did my first flight in this one, and I'm a little disappointed. She flies well enough - right up until you need to pull the throttle back to land. That's when you end up hitting an unrestricted beta and dropping out of the sky.

The only other thing I'd change is the glowing orbs surrounding the nav, beacon, and strobe lights. They're about the size of a cantaloupe, which gives it a feeling of being back in FS2002.

Oh... and a manual would be nice. I had a heck of a time finding the engine start switch. For those that don't have it yet, click the top of the condition lever to open a secret cap that hides the switch.

Besides the YS-11, I think I may go back to rum-running in the Caribbean with the Steam Caravan for a while...
