Well, that was an interesting finish to the Indy race in Loudon. Will Power and others said they were saying the track was wet. Brian Barnhart said they never received any warnings from the drivers, in fact implied that there isn't any way for them, in the control tower, to receive real time communication from the drivers, and that they relied on their own people to report that the track was fine (oops). This surprised me because in watching NASCAR, I've heard the TV people say many times before going to green from a rain delay that they get evaluations and opinions from the drivers on track conditions before making a decision to go back to green. Then later on the Speed channel, Robin Miller said that's BS, the Indy control tower does indeed hear the drivers. What's the deal? Seems like a pretty bone head move to me (to start the race in the rain). And lying about knowing the drivers concerns about the track?
