iniBuilds T-33 AutoPilot

This has become a point of much frustration. I rarely had any trouble with an AP prior to coming to MSFS but this AP in the T-33 has not worked (for me) at all after 6 or 7 flights. I end up hand flying in every case.
The wing leveler button is always illuminated, fine. . .beyond that none of the other functions illuminate when pressed (are they working or not?). As far as I can tell, based on the reaction of the aircraft to heading changes or flying the GPS track, they are not. I've gone through the manual but other than noting it's position there's no other information on it's functionality.

Any first hand experience would be welcomed.

Falcon,

I found the buttons on the autopilot unit in the panel a little finicky. They work but after I found the autopilot controls on the digital display I stopped using the unit behind the stick. Much easier.

Check my post below on bringing up the autopilot panel in the display.

I agree the buttons on the lower mini panel are a pain to use, no back lights to indicate the function status. The controls in the big screen display are far better giving positive indications. The other issue I have found is that the NAV function has a bug where the Jet will perform shallow s-turns left and right of the GPS course line. I gave up hoping it would stabilize and just set the A/P to Heading mode and manually steered the course via fine adjustments for wind changes. That method is very stable.

I've only seen that NAV weaving on one flight so far. My thinking is that it had something to do with how the flight loaded. The very next flight and all since, the NAV tracking has been rock steady.

I should have noted that I did punch in the route via the GPS on the panel and did not create a flight via the UI panel of the sim. Not sure if that has anything to do with the wondering course line issue but I think it bears further investigation.
