Instant Mission Maker

Thanks Mathias for the heads up.

Do you know if Developers can use this for payware? Looks like it as they dont mention anything on that.

Bill

They had a special developer price for AFX, so it's worth looking into how they're handling it this time around.

it could be nice if it's possible also add ai objects not included in the program.

Hi Bill:
Commercial Licensing
With the Full Version you can make any mission you like, play it yourself, upload them to the Internet, either for free or charging a small fee (up to 10 Euros or $ 10).
However, if you want to use FSX Mission Editor to build missions for commercial purposes, i.e. you are going to make money with your missions, then we ask you to get in touch to discuss formal Commercial Licensing (sales@fsaddon.eu).

See here: http://secure.simmarket.com/fsaddon-fsx-mission-editor.phtml

I'll be a customer for this.

Cheers, R.

I don't think that's the same product, Rob.

The FSAddon Mission creator is called FSX-ME (FSX Mission Editor), while Flight1's, being discussed here, is Instant Mission Maker.

With the FSX ME system, I would be doing missions for the Koidak, and the prices and royalties charged per each sale were a bit high. I think it wasnt calculated for people like me who make scenery and missions to go 'with' aircraft packages, so the focus on my pricing included other bits, not primarily missions.

If this is open for people like me, then I can really use it. :d As it is, making missions from the FSX SDK is like rocket science. I tried making one, and after 3 days, called it quits, never getting it close to working, lol..

I, as well as other developers use a ton of software for developing, such as FS Sound Studion, FS Panel Studio, etc. For tools to be made too expensive makes them un-useable. Great (awesome) though for freeware. Most every developer starts out as freeware and moves up. (Im not putting anyone down or anything).

There is a reason that there's not really many missions for FSX :costumes:

Well, since noone else took the plunge so far I went out and bought it.
Like Lionheart I'd like to include a few sample missions to my products but with the available tools mission making is more like a separate project.
Havn't done that much with it yet but have been able to get me up in the air with two other wingies. Looks quite promising so far.
Sure it's not 100% as straight forward as they say but I think the advertizing is 94.5% close :costumes:
Once you have figured that you best set up and begin a flight in FSX and keep it running before opening the editor the rest all comes together bit by bit. The Docu is not really clear about this, though that may well be due to my not so good english and that I'm more used to the CFS editors which are quite different in overall conception.
Absolute godsend is the ability to position objects, AI aircraft and waypoints directly in FSX.
A little drawback to some may be that Instant Mission Maker missions can't be edited with other tools such as FSX Mission Editor.
Bottom line, I think this one has the potential to bring some people into mission building for FSX.

Hi Folks

A little drawback to some may be that Instant Mission Maker missions can't be edited with other tools such as FSX Mission Editor.
Jim's released a beta update for FSXME, (v1.0.0.1455),
so IMM mission frameworks should now be editable in FSXME.
For those interested, please see this thread at -
flightsimulatorxmissions.com - New Mission Editor/Maker

N.B.
AIUI, IMM to FSXME is a one-way operation.

You must save the mission xml to a different folder.
Because of the way IMM works,
if you attempt to re-edit with IMM,
it will revert to the IMM version.

i.e.
Use IMM to develop your basic framework,
then use FSXME for adding the more complex code.
