• There seems to be an up tick in Political commentary in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site we know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religiours commentary out of the fourms.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politicion will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment amoung members. It is a poison to the community. We apprciate compliance with the rules.

Intel supposedly making some small changes

A friend has just put together a new computer using a i7 980X cpu. Here in Australia the chip and it's cooler/fan unit alone cost about $1600 Wholesale !!!

Overkill really. Posted a couple of pic's in the Toy Room.
 
If Intel keeps the insane pricing and socket diversity up I'm going to go AMD for my next upgrade.

Heck, with the right BIOS you can even put a current hexa on a four year old AMD mainboard!
 
Guess I will head over to anandtech to catch the reviews. I always push them to include FSX in the benchmarks. LOL.
 
What applications use 6 cores? Is windows 7 smart enough to run 6 single core only apps at the same time? How many people even need to do that?
