Interest in CFS3 waning?

>> Europe does not hold the same level of interest for everyone and also a change of pace is always a good thing. <<

I agree..I read the forum daily but don't post much, as my interest is the Pacific theatre and well,.. was MAW.

>> I think the new Solomons/PTO Korea forum will be a breath of
fresh air <<

Looking forward to the enhancement of PTO!

Open version

I hear you! I've got the open version of IL-2, but it is a bit disappointing, so far at least. SF, as I've already said, is good for what it was designed for, and IMHO, CFS3 is best for what it was designed for. I needed a rest, too, in fact. And to stop the feeling of being overloaded with commitments.

What open version?

Not Waning On-Line.

:bump:

Hi fella's,
CFS3 on-line is flourishing well. people come and go, yes,-- but we are getting new faces arriving. There is such a lot of stuff out there, that I can't keep up with it all, not complaining, very happy indeed. You could say we are spoilt for choice. :ernae:

My ambition is to get more folks flying MAW--ETO--Korean Skies and Solomons On-line, but I've found that a fair few of our on-Liners find the complications of the add ons somewhat daunting, so stick with what they know, as it is more the competition that keeps them going. So a few of us are helping folks out with getting these add ons installed and hope this will all pick up in the future.

Certainly the loss of the Micro-Soft Server has thrown CFS3 on-line into the back water, but the interest is definately there. -------That reminds me, bout time I hosted some more ETO Games.--LOL :173go1: many thanks to all involved for producing these Add ons, etc, certainly will be looking for the up-grades.

So the future is bright. :applause::medals::icon29:

Interest was waning but has been definately up since the ETO releases, you only have to see how many folks are browsing this forum at any time, I think it' has the third highest figures behind fsx & fs9. There has been a dip recently but thats the usual summer thing.

I still like cfs3, with all it's faults. There's no other combat sim that can hold my interest, and I've tried them all. :)

I've really, really tried to get into IL2 for instance but for all the raving about it, it still leaves me cold. BoB2 is great and the ai are superb but again, it lacks something which I can't quite put my finger on, I think it has a 2D feel about it somehow.

I still have lots of ideas for cfs3 which I want to pursue, so I'll be here for the forseeable future. :)

This CFS 3 forum is still active: I posted a thread about the Fokker D21 (screenshots can be viewed here) on june 16th at Simviation. Only 26 views so far and only 2 new posts on this forum since.......

I try to visit here 3 or 4 times a week, left posting to my spokesman, but since he's on holiday now for a few weeks/months I have to post myself....

I've seen a lot of names on this forum since 2002, some people have changed their names and stayed, some left and some new people joined in.

I still remember Whatta with his singer friend Heather, I remember there was a dude from Luxembourg here (not just a dude: Da Dude) etc etc

You mean Da Dude aka Bobbele aka Messerdriver? He still pops in from time to time. :icon_lol:

He's had some more names, but still the same person.

Still curious about Whatta's friend who also was/is a singer. In my memory her names was Heather, but I only know her of all avaters that were posted here on SOH

Still curious about her music, never heart it actually

My memory was wrong, her name was/is Rachel, just remembered she featured as nose-art on a P51,which can be found here:

Her full name is Rachel Stevens, so I'll do some research for musicfiles myself (now I really am curious)

Yes and we used to take the p==s out of him for his Rachel Stevens crush:jump: Didn't he go into that U-boat sim??

Well Gents, from this post, you really have confirmed my thoughts on why I dropped AHII and
came back to CFS3. What I really noticed is no matter what version of CFS anyone likes better,
there was still an overall satisfaction and loyalty for the game. There were no loud and
disgruntled morons mucking up the waters for everyone else.

Very well discussed Gentleman, and its good to know that CFS carrys such a
great group along with it. :ernae:

Well, like I said, I've checked out other flight sim forums, and the comradeship is not at all the same... Even though I already knew one or two members here and there.

Here's home... :ernae:

And as if to prove the point, my Romanian PZL skin has hit 50 downloads in less than 24 hours. Somebody must be "buying" - and it is not a mainstream aircraft by anybody's standards.
