Internet back on.... Oklahoma/Nevada

Pearl Harbor Project developer
Now that I have gotten back to the online world I will be releasing the LOD Pearl BB's.

Basically the idea behind multi-LOD models is to show as much detail as can be seen depending on the distance. Of course being far away... should not show the whole model.

4 LODs and 1 Damage model per Ship

First up is Oklahoma.... going to be honest.... the damage model does not meet my expectations.... after sinking... the model is hull up instantly. Could not find a way of animating once without looping animation.

Nevada will follow.... same LODs different damage model... showing decks awash.

Will work on the damage models to attach them to the main dummy holder.

Should be able to use these two new models next week.

After finishing out the Pearl BB's I am going to be transitioning over fulltime to FSX shipyard building. I know I know.... but love seeing the details and the new Arizona is looking awesome in FSX. Pretty much everything is built in CFS2.

As a parting gift though I will be posting some of my other GMAX projects like North Carolina class BB as well as some of the Pearl Harbor ships. This should help a new era of CFS2 shipbuilders pick up the craft.

she is going to take a little more work... I will see if I can finalize the superstructure and AA suite ... for the turrets I would use the one's from North Carolina.

Looks great, Crash! Thanks for everything you've done for CFS2! :salute:

HEAR! HEAR!
:applause: :applause: :applause: :applause: :applause:

What you are doing looks great and it will help greatly Talon's Pearl mission fps performance.

Since I am sure the hangars and buildings in PHP2's Oahu were built with the same LOD concept in mind, I wonder if it were possible releasing a "lightweight" Pearl scenery as well, without all the planes parked on the ground. I am almost sure it's their fault if Pearl scenery, albeit GSL, slows down considerably when those aircrafts are displayed, even if some of them are very simple AI versions of more complex models while, for example, AH's F3F is not.

If it were possible adding them or lowering their numbers via mission editing, it would be great.

Thank you very much and we'll surely miss your ships, since it's impossible converting their mdl from FSX back to CFS2! :crybaby:

Cheers!

Crash,

Shouldn't it be the West Virginia with the decks awash? The Nevada was grounded so she wouldn't sink at the Harbor entrance.

Talon

Sounds good. Hi guys. I've been giving serious consideration to re-installing cfs2 on my machine/.

Al, how are ya? I havn't spoken with ya in awhile...been a lot of changes but I'm finally startin to see a little daylight again. middle

I'm sure we all will be heartily sorry to see you depart this sim. Maybe sometime in the future you will get the urge to shoot something up again.

I'm seriously looking forward to these ships though, Talon tells me they will be extraordinary.
