• There seems to be an uptick in Political comments in recent months. Those of us who are long time members of the site know that Political and Religious content has been banned for years. Nothing has changed. Please leave all political and religious comments out of the forums.

    If you recently joined the forums you were not presented with this restriction in the terms of service. This was due to a conversion error when we went from vBulletin to Xenforo. We have updated our terms of service to reflect these corrections.

    Please note any post refering to a politician will be considered political even if it is intended to be humor. Our experience is these topics have a way of dividing the forums and causing deep resentment among members. It is a poison to the community. We appreciate compliance with the rules.

Internet explorer 7 browser problem

Hi, all. i am having major problem with the IE broser which i updated to IE 7 from either 6 or 5. every time i click and it opens, it freezes the pc.I probably should not have. but before this, i was talking with mcaffe antivrius techs as i was having probs updtaing my antivirus program. they told me to uninstall and go back and reinstall and update windows. When i did that, it also said to update to latest browser and now it freezes the pc. My firefox one is fine though, but prefer IE. Any way to repair it, the browser or roll back to previous one. thx.
 
Having major problems getting on and staying on internet. Using Explorer as well. Keep getting the error message saying it has to close. I keep sending report. The info button tells me it's a windows problem but when I update it says there's no fix yet. Ironically, this site/connection stays up! :applause:
 
Of all the problems that I have had from M$ products, both of yours are not some of them.
That being said, it sounds like some registry problems to me. Have either of you purchased a system utility that monitors and repairs Windows and its components?

Drop me a PM and I can recommend a couple that I have used that really work well. I am using one right now that I absolutely will continue to use.
 
After saying that I have not experienced those problems, now the last 2 days, IE has been locking up on me on both computers.
It is a simple fix of closing it and coming back into it, but I am now wondering if M$ sent an update that is causing it.
 
Hi, every time I open that IE browser, it does not close. I clikc the x and right click to close on bottom of the pane and it still stays open. I tried to reinstall ie 6 but it said newer version detected so install cancelled. Do you really need to buy a system util?
 
Firefox is better

I had infinite hangups and all sort of gremlins with IE until I decided to listen to some friend's advice and installed Firefox.

Never had a single problem since.

Hi, guys. Never mind. i looked and there was a reset tab in IE 7 and its fixed now. Works as fast as firefox. thx.

Sorry dsawan; NOT A CHANCE BRO;

Firefox 3.0 is rated 7 times FASTER than IE7. The difference in speed when loading any site is quite noticeable.

Ask anyone (like me) who uses it as their primary browser. (for the past 4 years)
Firefox is lightning fast compared to IE7. - I use IE7 once each day.

Firefox will always be faster than IE anything ...... Why? Because IE is built using MS code. There are billions of bots out there on the net just hunting & looking to attach to it. Because of this it requires added security precautions .... which makes is slower ....

You can also customize Firefox with 1000's of different skins (themes) plus 1000's of plugins (extensions) - IE has a few

We all need IE for MS updates. It also makes a great back-up browser but sadly that is about all it's good for.

I mean no disrespect to you, MS or anyone; but this is simply the truth.
