Dewey is an interesting character. He travelled around the world to help ailing clients and met his demise in the Philippines. Not once but twice. Tucked up in Mariveles Harbor Luzon, Philippines presently.

Indeed! What must the Japanese have thought when they found the US Navy repairing its ships in drydock in a combat zone when they can barely get food to their troops.

I doubt that it got used by the US Navy after it got towed to Mariveles. Why they didn't scuttle it in Olongapo in the first place is beyond me. It ended up being scuttled in Mariveles by the Navy anyway.
