IPad Delight

Found a nifty FREE program on the net called "CALIBRE" (google it). It basically takes most PDF files (and other formats also) and converts them to epub format that the Ipad can read.

I already did a couple of manuals and checklists for my planes and set it right next to my monitor......sure beats looking everything up on the go!

Another great use for the IPad. So glad I bought it. Downloaded lots of great free books from the net, have some great airshow shots, scenic pics, family pics, and the best screenies to amaze my friends. Play Xplane and lots of other good games (most free to $9.95), and surf the net.

Anyone sitting on the fence should grab one. Worth every penny.

Hey Bob,

Loving mine, lol...

My latest App addictions are Corkulous for mapping business directions, Weather HD, Max Journal, NFS Shift (car racing, awesome graphics, very intense), Sim City (havent played it much as its quite sophisticated. Going to have to study how its done). Magic Window.

The base programs rock and I was thinking about that tonight. One of the main things I liked about my iPod when I first got into these devices of Apples (I was originally into HP Jornada's), was the programs/software that Apple have. iCal is one that I have only just tapped into, as well as their Mail program. While FSX is booting up (takes ages) I can pick up the iPad, open into Mail, check the emails, delete the garbage mail, and sit it back down and the game is still loading... (sim I mean).

DaVinci is a cool program, as well as World Clock. Some recent releases.

Why is everybody so obsessed by this iPad?
It does less than a regular laptop, costs twice as much, and is from Apple!
To me, it's an unnecessary fashion gadget!

By the way Bob,

If you have a digital camera and go on trips often, get the Camera kit from Apple.com. Well worth it. Has two connectors, one is a USB, and you can link your camera into it and upload pics from your camera or iPhone into the iPad. I tried it out and works brilliant. Wish I had it a few weeks ago when I was up north and was trying to figure out how to get pics from iPhone to iPad and then edit the photos.
