iPhone goes Tom Tom

New Zealand often gets trialled with new products - Tom Tom goes live with an iPhone GPS app a little later in the year.
One more reason to have one less gadget I suppose.

I don't know about TomTom's GPS, I use a Garmin (not on IPhone) and it is about the same price than the $119 apps. I have a navigation on my iPhone, the Maps, but when the phone rings, the screen is blocked.

Garmin's turn by turn voice instruction will tell you to stay left and then right. First time I used it on my trip to Phoenix. Did not have any problem at all. :engel016:

Cool to know that iPhone is coming up with new apps, and yes less gadget to carry! But like a Swiss Knife, you can only use it one at a time! :icon_lol:

Good to know Wing-Z.

In the States, AT&T has a similar GPS system for iPhone, but at a ridiculous $10.00 a month. After 7 months, you would have paid for a TomTom, and pricing of Apps for iPhone is much lower. Seems ATT hasnt 'grasped' the idea of high quantity sales from good pricing.

Chacha, those are NZD prices.
The app is about a third of what a Tom Tom GPS unit costs.
So if you don't have a phone or a GPS it would make sense.

For myself, I have a GPS unit, and a brilliant little phone (that only phones, and is light and slim and fits in my jeans pocket.)
So I'll have to wait until one or more fall over before entering the 21st century.

Ooh, now we are talking! I thought USD -That's way expensive of an app that I was thinking.:isadizzy: :isadizzy:

Thanks for clarifying Wing_Z! :icon_lol:

Light and slim and fits on a jean pocket.... that must be real nice and handy!
(My phone fits on my leg jean pocket) :icon_lol: :icon_lol:
