ok then, so i take it this never made it into the 1.2 update

if so how and where?

if not, very disappointed

Yah come and get 1.2:icon_lol: Now im going hunting.
2011-9-21_3-13-38-597.jpg

im sorry but im deleting that variant, it looks like crap, the 2 rear flirs look tacky and the GBU and sidewinders make it look cheap, im not impressed with the new varriant it looks like something you find in the toy section at k-mart for under $10

whats new in the start up?

im getting a caution lights for hydraulics, it now wont kick over, im not sure what changes you did, but for me, its not better after all

What i mean is. You wouldn't catch the USAF or Army without the Dome. This Boom type Wac in the US would only be picked up by the USCG and there paint would make it look excellent. As for your paint I would be interested in downloading it should you decide to release. It would go good with the F35 RNLAF Parrot Sq paint.

Nice. Polly Sq?? Something about that RNLAF Sq I like. I just hit the gust lock to call up the clipboard and use the auto-start method.

It's in 336 Sqn colors (currently operating C-130H & C-130H30). Gonna make a special livery for the AWACS and the AC-27J in due time. Startup problems probably an FSX issue again. Gonna test another turboprop first. If that fails also, i need to re-arrange my default plane again.

since the update i have the Problem that the VMS "Warning, Warning" Call goes all over the time without a reason?! :-/

Sigh.....the thing will not start. Autostart selected, all stuff lights up, switching starting knob one at the time.....power works, but no joy with the engines. I hate updates, when they screw up stuff that worked just fine.

You need to toggle the fuel cut-off valves on. They aren't set by the pre-start now.

Don't like what's been done to the auto-pilot. Switching on HDG, ALT or AIRSPEED hold sets the AP to your current heading etc, so you can't pre-set.

And i'm getting the contant "warning warning" as well.

Back to V1.0 me thinks...

Figured out it was something like that. Loaded another aircraft and found the mixture was closed.

Copied all contents from old aircraft.cfg and the old air file to the new Spartan folder and gonna test again.

Edit: Tested and switched back again. Got the engines running now. Only wonder why (with your co-pilot to assist and all) the fuel valves remain off at autostart in this update?
Also hope IRIS will release the saucer AWACS version as well, since it looks quite cool.
Off flying.....

Test flying the AC-27J....

After starting up engine #1 the aircraft behaved like an untameable stallion. After starting engine #2, at engine idle all was calm again. But, when slightly increasing power to taxi it became a digital response again: either absurd power, or nearly nothing at all.

The AP works quite well, the only difference is; i have to switch the Alt and NAV button prior to setting the desired altitude (and switch the NAV-GPS/FMC switch of course). Same goes for the AT (engage and then adjust). Liked the previous behaviour better. Are AP settings and engine settings embedded on other places then the aircraft.cfg?

If not, i'm gonna re-install 1.0 and add the new models manually.

Edit: AP behaviour restored, new models function perfectly (added to original install). My score so far: update undone, just added the two new models.

Edit 2: With these two new planes IRIS has provided me with allmost a full range of a fictional Royal Netherlands Caribean Air Force;

-The F-20C (24) and RF-20C (4)
-The C-27J (6)
-The EC-27J (2)
-The AC-27J (2)

The only thing missing is a KC-27J......

Once complete, i'll make an entire fictional RNLAF Division out of it, with all repaints, and AI (and perhaps some scenery).

Hay now. Flying at 10000 at 75% and dropped out of the sky in flames:angryfir: Time to hit the grog.

Ooooo, lots of stuff to cover...

Firstly, the link below will take you to the IRIS forums C-27J patch page, that's where you'll find the latest info on any patches/modifications for the product. I've updated one of the systems files and upgraded to 1.2.1

http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/topic/9341-c-27-patch-status/

Secondly, let's go through some of the issues brought up.. ;)

1. When starting the engines, either using autostart or manually, follow the following procedure.

- Make sure that your fuel cutoff switches are in the 'cut' position.
- Make sure your park brake lever is pulled out.
- Turn Engine 1 starter knob to the 'start' position.
- When oil pressure on the ACARS screen is at 40 PSI or greater and the L OIL PX warning is extinguished, THEN press the left fuel cutoff button to switch fuel flow ON and the engine should start. You should get a peak of around 80% N1 before it settles between 65-70% N1 at idle.
- Next, repeat the above for the right engine.

2. Engine Fires... :)

As you're flying, keep an eye on the ITT. If it exceeds 833 degrees C, you'll get a L ENG HOT or R ENG HOT indication on the ACARS screen.. If that happens, decrease your speed, increase your altitude or decrease your power to the engines.
If you fly with the ENGINE HOT warning on for in excess of 5 minutes, the respective engine will catch fire and well, it's a one way trip down from there.. :)

During testing we found that low level high speed flight (less than 2000 feet and 300+ knots) for extended periods caused issues with engine overheating. So just bear that in mind.. ;)

3. AWACS

We developed several different variants of AEW&C equipment during testing, the E-3 dome style, the E-2C rotodome style and the Saab ERIEYE system. At the last moment the ERIEYE system was chosen due to it's real world likelyhood of being fitted to an EC-27J variant. Whilst I personally enjoyed (and in some cases preferred) the rotodome style, it wasn't the correct fit for the aircraft. Down the line, if we have to do another model update, maybe it'll make its way in, who knows. :) People have already requested a carrier variant and refuelling variant..lol.

4. Handling

Finally, as indicated in the manual. To get the best out of this aircraft, contrary to popular belief, fly the aircraft with your realism settings on easy. This was simply due to the final FDE tweaks being done on my system with easy settings on (I forgot to alter them after a new fsx.cfg build!) If you run at realistic, it'll be oversensitive and unstable. This is NOT an issue with Pam's FDE, it's an issue where I simply made last minute adjustments based on my systems settings.. :)

Not sure if there's anything else to cover.

Enjoy it, and painters, please note that with any paints you've done, the Tail Texture needs updating to take advantage of some of the EC-27 and AC-27 paints.. :)

Ciao for now.

DB.
