Guys, a challenge has been laid down to the IRIS team to build and release a Christen Eagle for FSX by September 1st.. :)

As part of this challenge, we're streaming dev work pretty much as we do it, and whilst most of the announcements have been on the IRIS forums, we thought it would be interesting for others to take a looksee.. :)

Anyway, our livestream is on www.livestream.com/irissimulations

Been watching the live stream and chatting a bit. Really interesting to see the work being done live, especially some of the animation work he was doing. Great stuff.:ernae:

But seriously, this sounds fascinating. Would be great to see if it can be done.
 
The stream will be up in about 30 mins if all goes well, another project has thrown a spanner in the works.. lol...
 
well don't waste time posting about it...just get 'er done :wavey: then we'll all talk about how cool the streaming thinger was...:173go1:
 
Well, it appears to be a failure. The rules were "by September 1st" not 'by the end of September 1st'. We would've had to have heard about it for it to be a win, right? That would've been beyond anything I coudl ever pull off, so my hat's off regardless.
 
I don't care how long it takes...just to have a true FSX Eagle warms my tired heart

no disrespect to the Long Island Fs9 version - it is a soldier even in its adapted mode.

Ditto. Now that the initial challenge is over, and if you are still planning to do it, take your time.

looks like they took down the chat room and the live feeder...I hope the project is still on.

man:icon29: that Texan II video of theirs is really well done - I might have to get that plane while waiting for the Eagle
 
Smudge's partner has a physical rehab program and he's been getting her organised with that the last couple of days. According to her FB acc & the livestream she had an issue with it and he had to look after her yesterday.

The project is still being worked on at least it was when I checked in yesterday morning on the livestream. It looked good.
