I have a Pyramat gaming chair,no not the one that sits on the floor, with a sub woofer and speakers by your head. Crank it up and especially the WW2 birds make your eyes bounce around making it hard to see the screen!
What I have done since back in the 2004 days was collect aircraft sounds. Since I cannot feel the handle or the mechanical feedback you get from hydros or electrical motors, I like a audible from most anything being it a gear handle, switch ect.
I have amassed thousands of sounds from paywares and mostly freeware planes, helis you name it.
I then add them to suit my taste. I am especially anal about touch town and roll sounds. I like a good thump that I can feel vibrate through the chair rather than a wimpy chirp. Roll sounds I also like alot of squeaks and rattles. So I suggest start downloading all the freeware planes you can and also borrow from others you already have loaded.Even use the provided FSX default sounds if needed.
Simple open any planes sound.cfg file. I then replace the file, say FLAP by dropping in my own sound I want. What I do is rename the file I want to add, say" FLAPNEW". Then scroll down and find the flap entry. There you can rename it, FLAPNEW and also change its loudness if needed. Since you are leaving the original sound alone and just editing the sounds name in the cfg, to go back just change the cfg name back to the original.
If unsure just right click the folder, copy it,rename one soundoriginal or simular so you have a backup and edit away. The only sounds which are not easily edited or changed are the engine sounds which are best left alone unless you replace them all.
Any questions on editing sound files pm me.
